My approach to teaching is systematic and direct. Students often get lost when too many directions or objectives are being presented, and learn more efficiently through direct teaching of a skill.

I have a Bachlor's Degree in Elementary Education with 5 years of different classroom experience. Before pursuing my degree, I have tutored and babysat ages 0-12 for 6 years.

I have tutored numerous students in my local area from grades PK-5. I am often asked if I have availability outside of my full-time job to tutor or support students who are homeschooled.

My mission

I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment that fosters critical thinking, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

My Story

Growing up as a daughter to an elementary school teacher, I have always loved the idea and career of being a teacher. Throughout my childhood and teen years, I have been a babysitter, nanny, tutor, dance teacher, Sunday School teacher, and have volunteered in many ways revolving the youth of my community. It has always been on my heart to make children feel seen, heard, and loved! Now with 5 years of classroom teaching under my belt, I see the need of supportive role models more than ever! As I remember and love my past babysitters, tutors, and role models, I have always hoped to be that for someone else!

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

Personalizing lessons can be very beneficial to all students. Using data to track and progress monitor their understanding of material helps me better support how their mind learns best. Being in a classroom for 5 years has taught me how to differentiate learning journeys based on the needs of each child. I am passionate about giving a student what they currently need rather than worrying about where they should be compared to their peers. Ultimately, it comes down to supporting their individual learning style and process.
