Indigenous History

Our Indigenous History collection centers Indigenous voices, scholarship, and lived experience, offering an alternative to textbook sidebars. Homeschoolers, afterschooling families, and caregivers will find vetted, secular resources that foreground tribal sovereignty, land, culture, and resistance across regions and time periods. You’ll see curricula shaped by Indigenous educators, primary sources, story-rich programs, and tutors who can guide deeper study. Every resource is reviewed for accuracy, respect, and age-appropriate engagement, avoiding tokenism and stereotypes. Use the filters to sort by region, age or grade band, focus (pre-contact history, contemporary issues, land and environment, or culture and language), format (books, unit studies, online courses, or videos), and learner needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, autism, or 2e. Many families pair Indigenous History resources with US or world history to create a more honest view of the past. If you’re not sure where to begin or how to pace these topics, Modulo’s AI learning concierge can suggest resources aligned with your values and your learner’s readiness.
