Kapaemahu
Kapaemahu is a picture book and animated short film sharing the Hawaiian legend of four healing mahu (nonbinary/transgender) individuals who brought healing gifts to Waikīkī. Created with guidance from Native Hawaiian cultural practitioners, it introduces children and adults to a story that honors both Indigenous history and gender diversity.
