Aadya
Aadya is a patient, high-achieving math and coding tutor who makes advanced ideas approachable. A National Merit Commended Scholar and USA Coding Olympiad Gold awardee, she has taken 16+ AP courses and tutored AP Calculus BC, AP Precalculus, and Python for classes of 30 while also mentoring neurodiverse learners through Step Up Tutoring. Aadya breaks abstract concepts into concrete steps, uses visuals and examples, and checks in often so students progress at a comfortable pace. She enriches lessons for gifted learners with deeper problem solving and creative coding tasks in Python and Scratch. Warm and organized, she aims to replace math anxiety with clarity and steady confidence, helping students see real progress in algebra, calculus, test prep, and computer science.

My approach to teaching is patient, supportive, and student-centered. I believe every learner has their own pace and style, so I take the time to explain concepts in different ways until they make sense. I focus on building a strong foundation and encouraging questions, because I want students to feel confident rather than rushed. Most importantly, I try to make learning engaging and approachable so students can see progress, enjoy the process, and gain lasting confidence in their abilities.
I am a senior at Granada High School and plan to pursue a degree in computer science. I have taken over 16 AP classes as well as several dual enrollment college courses. Through this rigorous coursework, I have built a strong foundation in math and developed the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently to students.
I have experience tutoring in several different settings. Through Step Up Tutoring, I worked with students who have special needs and learning disabilities, which taught me the importance of patience and adaptability. At my high school, I served as a tutor for AP Calculus BC and AP Precalculus, helping classes of around 30 students strengthen their understanding of challenging concepts. I also taught coding at theCoderSchool, guiding students through programming skills in a fun and supportive environment. Because of my versatile background, I am able to adapt my teaching to fit each student’s needs, whether they grasp concepts quickly or require more time and guidance.
My mission
My mission as a tutor is to help students approach math with clarity and confidence, no matter their starting point. I’m inspired by the process of breaking down complex problems in ways that actually make sense to each student. I aim to create lessons that are patient, adaptable, and tailored to each learner’s thinking style, so they feel capable and engaged rather than overwhelmed. Ultimately, I want students to leave each session with a clearer understanding and a sense of accomplishment.
My Story
I grew up in the Bay Area, and as a kid, I often felt that traditional school didn’t challenge me enough. I think I would have benefited from a learning environment where I could move at my own pace, like homeschooling, because I enjoy diving deep into topics and exploring them fully. My curiosity and love of problem-solving naturally led me to pursue a major in computer science. Growing up, I’ve always been fascinated by how technology and logic intersect, and I enjoy exploring all sorts of coding challenges and finding creative ways to solve problems.
Cognitive Diversity
How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.I approach tutoring by recognizing that every student learns differently, and I tailor my lessons to match their individual needs. For students with learning differences, I focus on patience, breaking concepts into manageable steps, and using strategies that make abstract ideas more concrete. I also work with gifted students, providing enrichment and deeper problem-solving opportunities to keep them engaged. Having navigated a rigorous academic path myself, including AP and college-level coursework, I understand the challenges of advanced material and can offer strategies that help students succeed at their own pace.
I have experience tutoring students with ADHD, which has taught me the importance of keeping lessons engaging and structured. I break tasks into smaller, manageable steps, use visual aids and examples, and check in frequently to maintain focus. I strive to create a patient and supportive environment where students feel encouraged, can ask questions freely, and learn at their own pace.
