For the past two years, I’ve been working as a high school English teacher, following the Cambridge Curriculum. I have extensive experience preparing students for IELTS and Cambridge exams (such as FCE), as well as teaching younger learners.
I’m confident teaching students of all ages and proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced.
’ve been tutoring students for the past few years, both in private lessons and in classroom settings. I often help my students, friends, and even family members with improving their English, especially in speaking, writing, and exam preparation.
I really enjoy creating personalized explanations and practical exercises that make learning easier and more enjoyable. Seeing someone gain confidence in their English skills is the best part of teaching for me.
My mission
My mission is to make learning English enjoyable and meaningful, helping students gain confidence while improving their skills. I’m inspired by seeing students grow, overcome challenges, and discover their own love for learning.
My Story
My name is Ilayda Kınalı, a 24-year-old graduate of English Language and Literature. For the past two years, I have been teaching English at an international school, following the Cambridge Curriculum. I have experience preparing students for exams like IELTS and Cambridge First, while also supporting young learners in building confidence across reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I hold a TESOL certificate from Arizona State University, a UK-accredited Pearson certificate, and a Pedagogical Formation Certificate. I am passionate about online teaching, integrating authentic materials, and creating an engaging, student-centered classroom. I would be delighted to bring my skills and energy to my lessons.
Cognitive Diversity
How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.I strongly believe that every student learns differently, and my main goal as a teacher is to adapt to each individual’s way of thinking and processing information. I always try to combine visual, auditory, and kinesthetic techniques in my lessons so that all kinds of learners can benefit.
I’ve also had experience supporting children with different learning needs, including both gifted learners and those who needed extra time or guidance. In my own family, I’ve helped a relative who struggled with attention and focus, which taught me a lot about patience, flexibility, and the importance of small, consistent progress.
For me, personalization isn’t just about lesson content, it’s about building trust, understanding motivation, and celebrating every small success along the way.
At the school where I interned, I had inclusive students, all of them special needs children, and my teachers, believing that teaching a particularly challenging class was crucial for their formal education, assigned us to teach in those classes. I focused my attention on the students with ADHD by first making them like me. Regardless of a student's age, I believe communication is paramount. Communicating with them and focusing on me was a skill I had experienced, and I succeeded in doing so, improving my students' English.
