I am available from 7 am-1 pm and 8 pm-11 pm on weekdays. I am available during 10 am- 2 pm and 3-6 on Saturdays.

My approach to teaching is friendly, kind, and comforting. I want my students to feel safe when they are learning with me. I also want to push them outside of their comfort zone, because in my experience, that is essential for growth. If I have established a positive teacher-student relationship, that student is encouraged to work hard, stay focused, and try new things. I try to model this in my life. I want to be an example of positive growth for students. I want to show them that learning is a life long experience.

I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelors in English Education. I am able to teach 6th-12th grades with this degree. I have an Autism Certification as well.

I have tutored for 8 years. In person while teaching, I offered tutoring services to my students after school to get support on content they were struggling with. I conducted writing workshops to provide a tailored and individualized approach to help them. I now tutor 5 students in person privately and work for an online tutoring company.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

My approach is first to establish a relationship with the students that I work with. That is key in understanding how they learn, their likes/dislikes, and what incentivizes them to work hard in class. I really pride myself on remembering my students on a personal level, because I feel that when I show I care about them, they want to work hard during tutoring sessions and trust me in their academic needs or struggles. I have 4 years of experience teaching individuals with ASD. I currently tutor 2 students with ASD, one in person and one online.

The last school I was at, was a choice school, meaning that students were selected. Many of my students were gifted. I pushed them with hands on activities, critical thinking discussion, constant collaboration, STEM incorporation, and extension activities.

I have a lot of experience with ADHD in middle school. I definitely allowed movement in my class for these students. I gave them engaging and differentiated tasks that allowed them to feel successful while also meeting their needs of movement or talking. I have noticed that these students flourish when you create the learning that is tailored to their unique gifts.

I have 6 years of teaching students with Autism both middle school and high school. I have experience tutoring and teaching them. I taught in person at an Autism Academy and then taught 2 years remotely through the same school.

Utilizing tools for students with Dyslexia such as having captions on the screen for an audiobook has been a huge help.
