I believe that all children are capable of learning when given the appropriate accommodations, modifications, and instruction tailored to their individual needs. Every child brings unique strengths, challenges, and potential to the classroom, and it is the educator’s responsibility to meet them where they are and guide them forward.
Learning is a lifelong journey—for both students and teachers. I strive to model a growth mindset and create an environment where curiosity, effort, and resilience are celebrated. My goal is to cultivate a classroom culture that values diversity, fosters belonging, and empowers each student to reach their full potential.
I am committed to equity in education. Equal opportunity does not mean identical support; it means giving every student what they need to succeed. Some may require more guidance, resources, or encouragement, and I embrace the challenge of adapting instruction to ensure all students have access to meaningful learning experiences.
At the heart of my philosophy is the belief that education can transform lives. By building relationships, maintaining high expectations, and continuously learning alongside my students, I aim to inspire not just academic growth, but also confidence, empathy, and a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

I received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Hartford, where I was a dual major in Integrated Elementary and Special Education. After teaching for a few years, I went on to earn my master's degree in special education from American International College. I hold a Sheltered English Immersion endorsement as well as professional licenses in both elementary and special education. I am also certified in the Orton-Gillingham approach through the Institute for Multi Sensory Education.

I have tutored both in person and remotely. While I was earning my master's degree, I tutored children in China remotely, which I enjoyed very much. I have since continued tutoring children locally.

My Story

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I use my skills and training to foster an inclusive learning environment where all students feel seen, supported, and capable of growth. I collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure appropriate accommodations, modifications, and interventions are in place, and I advocate for practices that uphold every child’s right to learn.

Many of my students whom I've worked with in my career have been diagnosed with ADHD. I find while each child is different, many benefit from movement breaks, highly engaging lessons and activities, multi-sensory learning, etc.

My first teaching job was with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, who were profoundly delayed. I learned an immense amount in working with that group of students. Since then, I have continued to work with students diagnosed with ASD on both ends of the spectrum.

I am certified in Orton-Gillingham Instruction for students with Dyslexia through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education. I have extensive training and experience working with children with Dyslexia.
