My mission

My mission as a tutor is to help every learner see just how capable and amazing they truly are. I want kids to feel confident, proud of their progress, and excited to learn new things — even when it feels tricky at first. What really inspires me to tutor is that moment when something finally clicks and a student lights up with confidence. I love encouraging my learners, celebrating their wins (big and small), and showing them that every bit of effort adds up to real success. Watching students grow and believe in themselves is what keeps me passionate about what I do every single day.

My Story

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

Since every child is different, I tailored my sessions to fit their needs. We usually did an assessment of their skills prior to tutoring to see what needed to be worked on most. In cases of learning not occurring, we would use interventions that would help them and then usually see a learning picture occur.

Used interventions such as breaks ( can play a game like tic-tac-toe) or points ( where they can save up for something they wanted to work for) during sessions to keep them fully engaged. Avoided voids with conversations that kept them engaged while in sessions.

Up until 2020 I worked with children on the spectrum- however, due to the company moving online. The company found these candidates harder to find / were selected if applicable.

As a child I was diagnosed with dyslexia, but with repeated practice of my letters / numbers / directionality I have see learners overcome this stigmatism.
