Rebecca
Rebecca is an educator with a background in youth and education ministry and sociology who has spent years working with children and families in community programs. She specializes in helping elementary learners grow in reading, writing, spelling, and English as a Second Language, and she also works with teens and adults who want to build literacy and communication skills. Rebecca believes every learner’s story matters, especially those who have struggled or felt overlooked; having navigated her own learning challenges, she brings deep empathy and patience to each session. Her lessons blend phonics, comprehension strategies, writing practice, and social-emotional check-ins so students not only improve skills but also feel more confident and encouraged. Rebecca is comfortable supporting learners with a range of learning differences and tailors pacing, materials, and feedback to what each child needs. Outside of tutoring, she loves reading, cooking, music, and art—and she often weaves those interests into engaging, real-world learning prompts.

My Educational Approach:
I strive to provide individualized instruction. Knowing that each student has their own life story as well as learning styles.
My goal is to partner with both students and parents to find a learning path & tools that fit best.
My goal is to work to build a continual rapport with students and families.

I strive to be open with my communication and give students and parents feedback on their sessions and learning journey.
As well as being open to discussing any concerns or questions. Open communication is key when working with anyone, especially in education

My mission
My mission is to bring encouragement and positivity into children's and families' lives through teaching. As well as helping my students overcome their challenges, reach their potential, and see their uniqueness and great purpose in life.
My Story
Hello, I'm Teacher Rebecca.
I've overcome a lot of challenges in my educational journey, including being diagnosed with a learning disability in math as a middle school student. And dealing with all the challenges that came with that.
I was one of the first people in my family to go to college.
I excelled there and even made it onto the dean's list!
I've had some great teachers and mentors.
But my mom has been one of the biggest influences and mentors to me.
She has always encouraged me to continually learn and inspired my love of reading.
Those are some of the reasons why my education, empowering others in their education, and teaching are so important to me.
I love helping people and giving back through community outreach and philanthropy.
I love reading and books. As well as cooking and trying new food. And everything that is creative or art-related, like music, movies, painting, and more.
I look forward to seeing you in the classroom :)
Cognitive Diversity
How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.Every student is unique and different. Their learning journey should be approached the same way.
When I was in middle school, I was diagnosed with a learning disability in math.
But, thankfully, I had a great special education teacher who helped me greatly.
I also excelled in other areas like reading, English, arts, and music.
I wish that platforms like this existed when I was in school.
I'm aware that these labels/diagnoses can bring big feelings/attitudes from the students themselves and others.
Every student needs teachers who care, meets them where they are, and helps them reach their potential.
I haven't personally taught 2E students.

I have had a few gifted students. They were gifted in other areas, took advanced Math, but needed assistance with their reading, reading comp., spelling/vocab, and writing.
I had a student who showed a lot of characteristics, though he wasn't diagnosed at that point. Redirecting and bringing focus back is key. Also, finding something that the students love. Like, for instance, he loved Minecraft, so we would read a Minecraft kids' story at the end when he finished his class as a reward.
