Yousef is a medical student with a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and math and several years of experience tutoring classmates and online learners. He supports middle and high school students in courses like biology, chemistry, and general science, as well as exam prep for GCSE and similar curricula. Yousef uses questions, puzzles, and real-life scenarios to help students move beyond memorizing definitions to actually understanding how systems work and how topics connect. In sessions, he encourages learners to talk through their thinking, build concept maps, and relate new material to prior knowledge. Yousef has experience working with students who have ADHD and adapts lessons with shorter, focused activities, clear checklists, and plenty of encouragement. His easygoing, upbeat style helps anxious students feel more relaxed, while his attention to detail ensures that gaps get filled in before tests. Outside of tutoring, Yousef enjoys basketball and brings that same sense of practice, strategy, and teamwork into academic coaching.

I like to create puzzles or questions for the student to solve as he slowly learns more and more to help connect all the dots in his head and make sure he has an accurate mind map of the syllabus in his head.

I am currently a medical student and Cairo University and I only have my high school degree unfortunately. I have plenty of experience though so I hope this makes up for my lack of certification. Not to mention, I am currently enrolled in the TEFL course.

3 years experience with online biology and chemistry AL and IGCSE tutors as a TA giving support classes, teaching students who are behind or struggle with the course.

My mission

I want to get more students to be fascinated by the science that explains the world around us. I only began to like bio, chem and physics after I had teachers who made me enjoy practicing them (even if I still do hate exams). I believe that if I can have their eyes glow as mine did before, then I will have succeeded in passing on the torch.

My Story

I am currently a medical student at Cairo University. I don't have any particularly interesting stories. Well, maybe I can talk about the array of students BEGGING me not to tell their parents that they're behind on their assignments. Their tears were for naught though MWAHAHAHAHA. This was my futile attempt at a joke, I am not actually evil.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

My final goal is to make sure all the information the student has learned is connect and ordered. I adapt my teaching style to each student by making the puzzles / questions I ask them less or more complex depending on each student. Not to mention some students are visual learners while other learn better from their own imagination. So I just adapt to the student, this is why I also use the first session as an intro for myself and for the student.

My very own sister has been diagnoses. Not to mention, during my volunteering I worked with plenty of kids who had ADHD. (of varying intensity)
