Petr is a native Russian speaker and language tutor who enjoys helping learners of all ages feel at home in Russian. He has taught children, teens, and adults online and in person, often working with families over many years. Petr’s lessons are practical and conversation-focused: students practice speaking from the very beginning, while also learning grammar and vocabulary through stories, images, and real-life situations. He is patient and skilled at explaining tricky concepts in simple ways, often returning to a point with a new example rather than pushing ahead too quickly. Petr has experience supporting learners with ADHD, autism, and other learning differences and adapts sessions with breaks, clear routines, and multi-sensory activities. He wants Russian to feel less like a test and more like a doorway into a new world. Outside of tutoring, Petr enjoys technology, music, and game design, and sometimes uses those interests to create fun, personalized practice.

Right now my schedule is quite flexible, so I’m able to adapt to different time zones . Monday: 9am–11pm
Tuesday: 9am–11pm
Wednesday: 9am–11pm
Thursday: 9am–11pm
Friday: 9am–11pm
Saturday: 10am–2pm, 4pm–11pm
Sunday: 10am–6pm

I explain even the trickiest grammar (cases, aspects, motion verbs) in simple English, using pictures, stories and real-life examples – never just rules.
Lessons = short chat in Russian + one clear new topic + lots of guided speaking practice + fun, light homework.
Worked great with Chinese kids (fluent reading in 6–8 weeks) and works even better with teens/adults.

My strongest tutoring experience comes from helping my wife go from beginner to fluent in Russian. I guided her through grammar, pronunciation, and real-life conversation practice. Now she’s confident enough that she occasionally joins me in supporting our Russian lessons

Subject Expertise

My mission

My mission is to get kids and teens genuinely excited about Russian . To prove it’s not some scary, impossible language, but something fun that opens up a whole new world of books, movies, music and travel.
What inspires me? Those light-bulb moments when a student finally rolls a perfect “р” (it sounds like spanish R), reads their first Russian meme and cracks up, or comes back from a trip bragging they ordered borscht without Google Translate.

My Story

I spent most of my life in Moscow, but because my father worked in aviation, I also had the chance to travel around the world throughout my childhood. We didn’t live in those places, we simply traveled often, and those experiences opened my eyes to different cultures and ways of life.
I eventually graduated with a degree in Applied Informatics, expecting to build a career in the tech world. But life took an unexpected and meaningful turn when I met my wife. She was already a teacher, dedicated, passionate, and always learning, and she inspired me more than she knows. Her influence led me to discover my own love for teaching.
Today, I live in China, where I teach Russian. My life has become a blend of cultures, languages, and constant learning. Teaching allows me to bring together my background, my travels, and my love for communication in a way that feels deeply fulfilling.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I’ve supported children with a range of learning differences, as well as gifted learners who benefit from more challenging, open-ended activities. I always aim to create a space where they feel understood, supported, and confident.

I haven’t been formally trained in ADHD, and I haven’t had a student with an official ADHD diagnosis .
That said, many kids (especially 7–14 years old) naturally have short attention spans online, so I already use a lot of the same strategies that work great with ADHD:

very short activities (3–7 minutes max)
constant switching (speaking , game , quick video ,speaking again)
movement breaks (stand up, jump, show me something)
visual timers on screen
rewards/stickers after every small win
lots of “you choose” moments (which picture/story/game next?)
