Aycis is an elementary-focused tutor and entrepreneur who has supported K–8 learners through both online platforms and their own tutoring company. They specialize in early math and literacy, helping students master foundational skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic while building confidence and independence. In sessions, Aycis meets each learner where they are, using games, visuals, and real-life examples to make new concepts approachable. They are attentive to different learning styles and are happy to slow down, revisit, or extend material as needed. Aycis enjoys working with both struggling and advanced learners and believes that mistakes are essential stepping stones, not failures. Outside of tutoring, they are passionate about trying new ventures and exploring multiple career paths, modeling curiosity and growth for their students.

I believe teaching begins with meeting students where they are. I adapt lessons to individual strengths, needs, and learning styles, ensuring each student feels seen and supported.

I tutored online with a company called varsity and now I have my own tutoring company called aycistutoring.

My mission

My mission is to help students discover a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. I want them to feel excited and capable whether they are studying at a library, working online with a tutoring company, or exploring knowledge on their own. By creating a supportive and engaging environment, I aim to show students that learning is not just about grades, it’s about curiosity, confidence, and the joy of understanding new things. Also, I am inspired to tutor because I love seeing young students grow in confidence as they learn how to tackle their homework with little to no help and begin to take ownership of their learning. Watching them improve their grades through tutoring, even when they may have only grasped part of the material in school reminds me of the power of personalized support. It motivates me to create a space where students feel capable, encouraged, and excited to keep building on their strengths.

My Story

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

In my tutoring work, I’ve supported students who displayed strong talents in math or creative thinking but struggled with reading comprehension, writing structure, or attention. I learned to differentiate instruction: breaking tasks into smaller steps, offering visual aids, and encouraging their strengths while scaffolding areas of difficulty. I learned to differentiate instruction: breaking tasks into smaller steps, offering visual aids, and encouraging their strengths while scaffolding areas of difficulty. I emphasized confidence‑building, helping them see that their challenges didn’t diminish their gifts, but rather made their learning journey unique.

I have worked with students who show advanced abilities in areas like math, reading, or creative thinking. With gifted learners, I have found they often need challenge and enrichment beyond grade‑level work, but also emotional support to manage perfectionism, boredom, or social differences.

I have worked with students who show ADHD traits such as difficulty sustaining attention, impulsivity, and restlessness. In tutoring, I’ve seen how these learners often bring creativity, energy, and unique problem‑solving skills, but need structured support to stay focused.
