Dr. Beth holds a BS in Animal Science and an MS in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University, along with a Doctorate in Education, and brings more than 20 years of experience teaching K–12 and university-level students both online and in person. A distinguished professor at Southern New Hampshire University, she specializes in science, math, literacy, and cross-curricular instruction, using experiential and multisensory methods that help gifted students stretch while supporting those with ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism, and other learning differences. Families value her ability to identify gaps, design personalized learning paths, and create inclusive, engaging lessons that build both confidence and mastery. At home in Oklahoma, she and her family care for a lively farm full of animals, including chickens, kittens, and even an axolotl, which she sometimes brings into online sessions for a unique learning connection.

I like to use an experiential learning approach to teaching students where I utilize various teaching tools to reach all learning styles. This enables the students learn how to use the material, not just to memorize the material.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University, and a Doctorate in Education as well.

I have taught in public schools both online and in brick and mortar since 2007. Also, I have taught online in public schools since 2012 while also teaching at the university level online since 2014 as a professor in environmental science.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I personalize lessons for children by teaching to fill educational gaps while also teaching new and challenging material. For instance, a child might be gifted in math while also struggling with grade level English. Finding those gaps and catching the student up in English while also teaching new and challenging material in math is important to keep the student moving forward to reach their potential.

I have worked with twice-exceptional students to catch up in subjects they might be behind on while also working to keep excelling in the subjects in which they are advanced.

I have had many gifted students that have gone on to amazing university work and professions.

I have had many profoundly gifted students for whom I created curriculum to challenge and reach their potential in their gifted areas while also respectfully and empathetically working on areas in which they might be behind.

I find that many of my students with ADHD respond well to game learning where we learn a topic and complete fun games to practice the topic.

I have worked with many children on the autism spectrum in literacy, math, science, speech, and improving in subjects in which they are already advanced.

I have had great success with using online tools to help students with dyslexia to reach their potential and to successfully use techniques to read and write proficiently for their lifetimes.

Yes, I have worked with students with sensory processing issues and speech issues.
