Recommended Ages

Open to students in kindergarten through grade 12

The NOBCChE Virtual Science Fair is an online competition organized by the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers. It invites K to 12 students, especially those from underrepresented communities, to submit research projects in chemistry and related fields and receive feedback from professional scientists. The fair includes webinars, mentoring, and recognition opportunities that highlight young scientists of color. Families use the NOBCChE Virtual Science Fair as both a goal for independent research and a way to connect children with diverse role models in STEM, even if they live far from major science hubs.

Participation for K–12 students is free through the NOBCChE NextGen program; main costs are project materials and internet/device access.
