Kara is a Montessori-trained teacher who has spent several years guiding lower elementary students in multi-age classrooms. She specializes in math and literacy for children roughly in grades K–5 and is trained in structured, research-based reading methods as well as Montessori math materials. In sessions, Kara meets each child exactly where they are, using concrete materials, visuals, and step-by-step routines to help them move from hands-on exploration toward abstract thinking. Her lessons are calm, predictable, and full of gentle invitations to explore rather than demands to perform. Kara has experience working with autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, and gifted learners and is comfortable adjusting sensory input, pacing, and expectations to keep learning sustainable and joyful. She loves weaving in nature, art, and children’s curiosities about the world.

In my lessons, I focus on meeting each child where they are — whether that means building confidence with reading fluency, improving writing structure, or learning to express ideas clearly. I use Montessori-inspired strategies, which means lessons are hands-on, personalized, and designed to support each child’s natural curiosity.
