1. Different methods for different ages. For example, Chinese characters are so confusing for children. For middle school and high school children, I'd like to use stories related to Chinese history and culture to help remember those characters. For younger children, I 'd like to use Cartoon pictures to understand and remember Chinese characters.
2. Teaching gifted children, I'd like to provide depth, challenge and autonomy to them. For example, after learning the topic "direction" , I'll have extended conversation with expanded vocabulary and more sentence pattern, then I'll ask students to introduce their school.
3. One example, I have a elementary student who was frustrated with Chinese characters. I showed cartoons and short stories. Now, he can even tell me the stories sometime!
