A classroom should be a dynamic environment where students feel safe to explore ideas, make mistakes, and learn from each other. I see myself not as a 'sage on the stage' but as a 'guide on the side'. When I first started learning Chinese, I was embarrassed to speak in Chinese because I would either be scolded by my teacher or laughed at for my clumsy grammar. I want to teach my students not only to gain knowledge, but also build confidence.

Subject Expertise

My mission

My mission is to empower students to become confident, independent learners. I aim to move beyond just helping them pass a test and instead strive to equip them with the critical thinking skills, foundational knowledge, and self-belief they need to succeed in their academic journey and beyond.

My Story

I live in Jakarta, Indonesia, and grew up there. I was a quiet student at class, but is especially active only in one class, ICT, because the teacher is very inspiring. I like his teaching style which is an open discussion, and he gives us quiz and interactive projects, reaffirming my descision to be an excellent tutor like him. I graduated school a few months ago, and is now enrolled in a 1 year chinese learning program in Wuhan, China, to achieve my HSK 5 certification before starting my undergraduate year.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

As I taught 20 children before, I realized their learning methods are all very different. Some of them prefer quizzes and flash cards, some prefer reading out loud and reviewing vocabulary, some prefer word games, etc. If children can enjoy the learning process, and the teacher's way of teaching is easy to understand, it will be easier for them to absorb the study materials. A set of teaching variations should be implemented on each class.
