Open Space is a free, open-source software project that visualizes the known universe using real astronomical data in an interactive 3D environment. Developed through collaborations between research institutions and planetariums, it lets learners fly past planets, follow spacecraft trajectories, and zoom out to distant galaxies. Parents and teens who love space appreciate how it turns abstract distances into something you can actually see and explore. It has a learning curve and works best on a capable computer, but as a no-cost tool it brings planetarium-level experiences into the home.
