I aim to make learning enjoyable and meaningful by engaging students and breaking down complex ideas into simple, clear steps. I emphasize conceptual understanding first, which builds a strong foundation for procedural success.

Bachelor’s in Social Work from Seattle University
Teaching License in Mathematics from Relay Graduate School of Education

I’ve tutored my middle school math students in class and online, and I’ve also enjoyed helping family friends’ children with math over Zoom.

My mission

My mission is to help students build confidence and truly understand what they’re learning. I’m inspired to tutor because I love seeing that “lightbulb moment” when a concept finally clicks and students realize they can do it. Helping kids grow in both skill and confidence is what drives me!

My Story

I grew up in Seattle, Washington, and math was always a huge challenge for me as a student. For a long time, I didn’t feel smart because I just couldn’t seem to understand it. It wasn’t until college that I had a teacher who helped me truly grasp the “why” behind what I was learning, and everything started to click. Later, when I had the chance to co-teach math, I met so many students who felt the same way I once did. That experience sparked a passion in me to help kids see math as less intimidating and more achievable. Now, as a teacher and tutor, I love breaking down concepts and helping students build confidence in themselves and to see math as very achievable!

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I’ve had many students with learning differences each year, and I love the challenge of modifying lessons so every child can succeed, no matter their level. I’ve learned that every child learns differently, and one of the most important parts of teaching is getting to know how each student learns and processes information best.

I’ve worked with many students with ADHD and love finding ways to keep them engaged and confident. I use short, interactive activities, movement breaks, and positive encouragement. Online, I keep lessons lively with visuals, games, and lots of participation to help students stay focused and enjoy learning.
