Natavan

Natavan is a seasoned TESOL specialist with an MA in TESOL from the University of Bath and 15 years of classroom and tutoring experience; she is available daily 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. EST. Her teaching blends communicative language teaching with content and language integrated learning and practical educational technology, so lessons build both subject knowledge and academic literacy. She begins with careful diagnostic assessment, then personalizes instruction with multimodal resources and scaffolded steps—perfect for students who need structure and for gifted learners who want depth. Natavan has served as a Language and Learning Support Coordinator and classroom teacher, has supported learners with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, and regularly tutors middle, high school, and college students in ESL, English language arts, reading, writing, and creative writing. Her work has been recognized as a Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Fellow (Appalachian State University), awarded a British Council special commendation for her dissertation research in CALL, and featured at international conferences including QuickFire 2023 (University of Warwick) and the Linguistics and Knowledge About Language in Education Conference (University of Cardiff). She uses project-based, gamified, and multisensory activities to keep lessons engaging and transferable, and she often brings short travel-and-cooking stories into class to spark curiosity and cultural connection.
