He pairs student-centered diagnostics with clear objectives and multisensory, real-world activities to develop confident speakers and writers—from beginners to gifted learners—while his decade in customer service shapes a practical, career-ready focus. Fluent in Wolof with working French and based in Dakar, he’s also a U.S. military veteran who brings tech-savvy energy and a love of videogames into lessons.

My teaching approach is student-centered, focusing on engagement, clear communication, and practical language use so learners can confidently apply skills in real-life situations.

I hold a Diploma in English Language and Literature and a TEFL certification from the Professional Development Institute. A diploma in electrical construction I earned at Jefferson Tech College USA. I also earned certificates in Effective Customer Service Skills and have continuously developed my teaching skills through online classroom lessons to my students and self-study in modern classroom technology.

I have over 7 years of experience teaching English online, including tutoring on platforms like Preply where I help students improve grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and writing skills. I have also supported friends and family in developing their English communication skills, focusing on practical usage for daily life, school and professional contexts.

My mission

My mission is to help students build confidence and fluency in English by creating lessons that are practical, engaging, and tailored to their needs. I am inspired to tutor because I believe language is a powerful tool for connection, opportunity, and personal growth, and I find great purpose in supporting learners as they achieve their goals and unlock their potential.

My Story

I grew up in the USA and born in Senegal, where learning languages was always a part of daily life, and it sparked my passion for communication and teaching. Along the way, I overcame my own challenges with English by studying diligently and earning a TEFL certification, a Diploma in English Language and Literature and Electric University diplomas. What inspired me most were teachers and mentors who believed in me and showed me the power of patience and encouragement. Today, I live in Dakar and work as an online English teacher, helping students around the world gain the same confidence in language that changed my own life. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, exploring different cultures, and spending time with my family and community.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I personalize lessons by first understanding each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style, then adapting my methods to fit their needs. I may have students take a placement test to accomplish this objective. For visual learners, I use charts and images; for auditory learners, I emphasize discussion and listening activities; and for kinesthetic learners, I include interactive tasks. I have experience teaching children across different levels, including those who need extra support with focus and structure, as well as gifted learners who benefit from enrichment activities and higher-level challenges. My goal is always to create an inclusive, encouraging environment where every learner can progress with confidence.
