Shane holds an MA in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute with a focus on sustainability management and is a certified peer educator. He tutors math, science, and Spanish using a diagnostic, communication-first method that builds problem-solving through scaffolded practice and gradual transfer to harder problems. He connects concepts to real-world contexts across algebra, civics, earth science, nature study, and critical thinking, and his lived experience with ADHD and non-verbal learning differences gives him practical empathy for neurodiverse learners; he tutored at Branham High School in spring 2024 and has supported a developmentally disabled child in one-on-one swim lessons. When not teaching he’s usually surfing, hiking, playing board games, or exploring a new corner of the natural world.
