My tutoring approach is to initially build rapport with my students. I find that if a student is not comfortable with their tutor, they will be less inclined to ask questions, so I want to make sure we get to know each other so that it becomes a collaborative experience. From there, I assess my students' current knowledge to establish a clear direction forward, and work to enable my students to find the answers with their own intuition, serving as a guide for their "aha moment". During content review, I want to give my students a guide beyond tutoring, so they understand how to study without someone at their side.

Seton Hall University - Bachelor's of Biology 2025

I have tutored for 5 years. I did 2 years in high school, initially with English and Math subjects in a one-on-one setting. In college I worked multiple jobs tutoring. First I worked as a Supplemental Instructor to tutor class-sized sessions in Chemistry and Biology, ranging from 2-20 students at a time. I would later work as a one-on-one tutor in the dormitories for students in these subjects.

My mission

My mission as a tutor is to empower students to unlock their full potential by fostering a love for learning and building their confidence in tackling challenges. I’m inspired by those "aha" moments when a concept clicks, and a student’s face lights up with understanding, it’s incredibly rewarding. I believe education is a powerful tool for growth, and I’m driven to help students not only grasp difficult subjects but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will serve them beyond the classroom. Tutoring, for me, is about making a meaningful impact, one student at a time, by tailoring my approach to their unique needs and helping them see their own strengths.

My Story

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I try to understand the mind of the student I am working with before we start tutoring, so I get a sense of the type of help they need. Some students just need clarification, others need a whole reframe of their study mindset or learning guidance. For example, I have worked with ADHD students who have trouble focusing. I would take them through exercises to practice while studying, so when they get sidetracked they can bring themself back to focus. Every student requires their own help, so I make sure to understand that before moving forward.

Worked with college classes filled with different students, some of which having ADHD. I would sometimes have to take time outside of these sessions to work with the student, as they needed the separate time where we can focus together.

Worked with college classes filled with different students, some of which on the autism spectrum.
