Maureen is a creative, empathetic tutor with a BFA from Parsons Paris, an MA in Audiovisual Art from Madrid, and an ESL teaching certificate. With years of experience teaching English both online and in person, she builds trust through patience, humor, and individualized attention. Maureen has worked with students at Lindamood-Bell, supporting those with ADHD and other learning differences through engaging, reward-based systems that keep lessons positive and productive. She believes learning should be both fun and focused, creating space where students feel safe to make mistakes and grow. When not teaching, she enjoys photography, animals, and time outdoors with her dogs and horses.

Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday: 9am-5pm

I believe in an educational approach focused on empathy. Every student has to be given unique attention to understand their learning style. This means I need to imagine how they learn based on my teaching sessions with them. It is my experience that some students learn with more confidence after getting to know me more, while others require more patience to feel comfortable making a mistake. A teaching class should be fun and productive!

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons Paris, the New School for Design, and a master's from LAV, an audiovisual art program in Madrid. I received my ESL teaching certificate in 2019.

I have many years of ESL tutoring online and in person. Moreover I often work with friends and younger cousins to help with homework ( reading, writing, studying etc.)

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I worked for Linda Mood Bell, a school that often works with students who might have specific school challenges. That job experience taught me the necessity of patience. I believe that every student has the ability to excel and grow if they feel comfortable doing so in a calm environment.
