She specializes in simplifying complex topics in algebra, geometry, calculus, and chemistry, helping students who struggle as well as those preparing for top ACT/SAT scores. Samantha works especially well with students with ADHD and dyslexia, using structured sessions, frequent check-ins, and practical examples to sustain engagement. My approach to teaching is student-centered and adaptable. I start by understanding each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style so I can tailor lessons to meet their needs. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, providing strategies that make challenging material approachable, and building confidence along the way.

I have a bachelors degree from The University of Albany in both Mathematics and Chemistry. I have worked in a middle school classroom as a teacher's aide and from there gone on to private tutor both middle and high school students for the past 8 years.

I would say I began in middle school working to help my friends understand what was going on in class and kept doing that all the way up through college. Since graduating from college I have been continuously working with students in either a school/classroom environment or 1 on 1 in private tutoring sessions.

My mission

My mission as a tutor is to help students build both skills and confidence so they can achieve their academic goals and feel empowered in their learning. I aim to create a supportive, engaging environment where students not only understand the material but also develop strategies and a mindset that will help them succeed long-term.
I’m inspired by seeing students grow and gain confidence. It’s incredibly rewarding to help someone tackle something that initially feels challenging and watch them realize they can do it.

My Story

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I have experience tutoring a range of students, including those with learning differences and gifted learners. I've worked specifically worked with students who tested a couple grade levels behind and have helped improve their scores over he course of a school year. I've also worked with students who could score near perfect on the ACT/SAT and worked with them to improve strategies and techniques to help them with those small errors.

I have experience tutoring students with ADHD and understand that maintaining focus and engagement can be challenging. I approach each session with structure and flexibility, breaking lessons into manageable chunks, incorporating frequent check-ins, and using interactive examples to keep students actively involved. I also use positive reinforcement and celebrate small successes to help build motivation and confidence.
