Recommended Ages

Intended for students roughly ages 12–25, from middle school through university.

The Climate Science Olympiad is a global competition where students tackle climate-related problem-solving questions and propose solutions, often working in small teams. Organized by ClimateScience, it’s aimed at motivated teens who want to deepen their understanding of climate science and policy while practicing clear written reasoning. Homeschoolers can use past questions, sample answers, and study guides even if they don’t compete, treating them as structured challenge prompts. Registration for the contest itself is low-cost or free, making it an accessible way to stretch older learners.

The Climate Science Olympiad is free to enter for eligible students worldwide, with participants ages 12–25 competing individually or in teams of two.
