Grammar Galaxy Language Arts Curriculum
Advanced first graders who are reading through 8th grade
For many parents, finding a language arts program that feels rigorous but not dry can be surprisingly hard. Grammar Galaxy is a story-based, full-year language arts curriculum where kids join a mission to save the galaxy from grammar chaos, tackling reading, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and composition through episodic adventures instead of drills. Created by homeschool mom and reading specialist Dr. Melanie Wilson, it was designed specifically to engage reluctant writers and voracious readers alike with narrative-driven lessons, short assignments, and built-in review. We love that lessons are open-and-go for adults, with straightforward teacher guides, while still feeling imaginative and playful for kids. It’s an especially good fit for elementary learners who enjoy read-alouds, role-play, and gentle structure rather than strict worksheets. Families who want a very traditional, workbook-heavy approach may find Grammar Galaxy too whimsical, but most homeschoolers we’ve worked with see that as a strength, not a drawback. Pro tip: read the missions aloud together at first, then gradually hand off more of the reading and writing to your child as their confidence grows.
Fun to Learn Books is a participant in Ocean Grove, Sky Mountain, and other charter schools. We are also willing to apply for other programs families are using.
Each level that covers one year of instruction is $70 in print (free shipping) and $50 in PDF form. Audio versions of the text are available for $20 as an add-on.
