Great Conversations at Seattle Children’s
Designed for preteens and young teens and their caring adults
Great Conversations at Seattle Children’s offers parent–child classes and workshops on puberty, consent, communication, and growing up. Co-developed with Seattle Children’s Hospital, these sessions combine medically accurate information with plenty of time for anonymous questions and honest discussion. Families appreciate the facilitated format: kids get expert-led guidance while adults learn concrete language and strategies for ongoing conversations. Programs are especially helpful for tweens and early teens navigating body changes and social pressures. Availability is location-dependent and registration fees apply, but many parents find the shared experience invaluable. When you can’t attend live, their books and online resources extend the learning at home.
Great Conversations puberty classes (The Chat) list the in-person series at about $138 USD per family (one preteen age 10–12 plus a grown-up, with additional family members roughly $100 each) and the virtual series at about $110 USD per family, with scholarships available.
