Math Dad Fraction Ninja Bootcamp 3

No reviews

Fraction Ninja Bootcamp 3 wraps up fraction mastery with a focus on arithmetic—adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions—using the same dynamic ninja motif, videos, guided worksheets, and practice challenges. Families value its gamified, step-by-step progression and the confidence kids build as they earn their “black belt” in fractions. Because it’s self-paced and laser-focused on a single topic, it’s ideal for targeted remediation or enrichment, and gives kids tangible results without having to sift through unrelated content.

Our mission

The mission of Science Mom is to make science and math learning engaging, accessible, and inspiring for families everywhere. Through self-paced, secular, and visually rich video courses paired with interactive doodle notes, polls, quizzes, and hands-on projects, they aim to empower learners to explore core concepts with confidence and curiosity. By keeping prep minimal and content lively, their goal is to support diverse learning styles and bring joyful, real-world education into homes and classrooms, fostering a lifelong love of discovery.

Our story

Science Mom (Jenny Ballif) and Math Dad (Serge Ballif) began their journey when Jenny, a plant science expert, started bringing weekly science demos to her son’s second-grade class in 2013, where she earned the nickname “Science Mom.” Wanting to make science fun and accessible for more families, she teamed up with Serge, a math Ph.D. and former college instructor, to create engaging, educational YouTube videos. Their channel grew quickly, especially during the pandemic, leading to the development of full self-paced, secular courses in biology, chemistry, and math. These courses blend entertaining video lessons with doodle notes, quizzes, polls, and hands-on projects, all designed to require minimal prep while deeply engaging learners. What started as classroom demos evolved into a global resource for joyful, real-world science and math learning at home.

FAQ: Additional Details about Math Dad Fraction Ninja Bootcamp 3

Science Mom & Math Dad lessons typically begin with a video that introduces a big idea in math or science through stories, visuals, or real-life connections. After watching together, families dive into hands-on experiments, printable challenges, or interactive tools like Desmos or card games, applying what they’ve learned in a way that’s engaging and often collaborative. Whether it’s solving an equation, testing the pH of common liquids, or building a model, each activity reinforces core concepts while sparking curiosity and critical thinking.

Fraction Ninja Bootcamp Level 3 is a self-paced, video-first program structured around discrete units: teaching video, guided practice worksheet, operational “quest,” and a reflection or explanation task. The course covers adding and subtracting fractions (with like and unlike denominators), working with mixed and improper fractions, and multiplying fractions. In your homeschool schedule, you might plan 30–60 minutes per session: begin by watching the short video, then do the worksheet (with support or independently), proceed to the quest (which applies the concept), then finish with the reflection or explanation. All materials are ready to go—no prep needed. If a student struggles, you can pause, replay, slow down, or use visual aids/manipulatives. If they finish early, they can advance at their own pace.

Fraction Ninja Bootcamp Level 3 is meant for students who are comfortable with fraction basics (simplifying, converting, comparing) and are ready to learn how to add, subtract, and multiply fractions (including mixed numbers). It’s ideal for learners who want to build solid procedural skill with conceptual understanding, and who benefit from a layered, self-paced approach combining video, practice, and tasks.

This level is not a good fit for students who are still struggling with foundational fraction ideas (equivalence, conversion, comparison) or who have not yet mastered multiplication and division facts. Also, students who are already fluent with fraction operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication) may find parts redundant or slow.

The course offers multiple modes of engagement—short videos, guided worksheets, quests, and reflection—which support learners with varying needs. Students with ADHD or autism benefit from predictable structure and varied stimulus. Dyslexic learners gain from strong visual and verbal explanations rather than reading-heavy instruction. Those with dyscalculia have the support of scaffolding as operations are built step by step. Gifted learners can move more quickly through familiar segments and spend extra time on challenge quests. Because the course is self-paced, parents or tutors can pause, repeat, add manipulatives, or adjust pacing as needed.

Science Mom and Math Dad very well for gifted and 2e learners, offering engaging, rigorous science exploration with flexibility to differentiate. For profoundly gifted kids, it’s a strong starter—pair with deeper extracurricular projects or independent research to meet their advanced needs.

Gifted learners appreciate the in-depth explanations and real-world science, which are great for skill-building like note-taking even when content isn’t fully new.

Twice-exceptional (2e) or accelerated students can still benefit, especially when pairing familiar topics with scaffolded academic techniques.

Profoundly gifted students seeking autonomy and depth will find the self-paced, inquiry-driven structure supportive; however, they may need more complexity or opportunities for independent extension beyond the provided material.
