Molly of Denali
Geared toward kids ages 4–8, roughly preschool through 3rd grade.
Molly of Denali brings a 10-year-old Alaska Native vlogger to the center of kids’ media, blending adventure with lessons in informational text skills. This PBS Kids animated series follows Molly and her friends as they navigate life in rural Alaska, using maps, brochures, websites, and other real-world texts to solve problems along the way. Created with significant input from Alaska Native writers and advisors, the show highlights Indigenous knowledge, languages, and community life in a respectful, joyful way. Parents and educators appreciate the representation, the gentle humor, and the built-in literacy tie-ins that make it easy to connect episodes to reading and social studies. Episodes and games are free on the PBS Kids site and app, and many come with educator resources. Watch with your kids and pause to talk about the different texts Molly uses—you’ll spot skills that show up later in research projects and nonfiction reading.
Molly of Denali can be streamed free on PBS Kids and the PBS Kids Video app; some episodes and DVDs are sold separately by retailers.
