Recommended Ages

Designed for young children in preschool through about 2nd grade (roughly ages 1–7)

Whistlefritz is an immersion style language program for young children that teaches Spanish or French through original songs, cartoons, and games. Created by Heidi Stock, a parent who wanted a joyful way to expose her own kids to languages, Whistlefritz combines award winning videos with audio CDs, flashcards, and teacher guides for home or classroom use. The materials feature native speakers and child friendly story lines that show language used in everyday situations like birthdays, playtime, and family routines. Families use Whistlefritz as a playful introduction to Spanish or French with preschool and early elementary kids, often singing along and repeating phrases long before formal reading or writing.

Individual DVDs and music albums are usually around $12–20, lesson-plan sets about $29.99–49.99, and large collections roughly $90–160.
