4th Grade Social Studies

Fourth grade social studies helps kids understand their place in larger communities—from local regions to the wider world. Our 4th Grade Social Studies collection curates vetted, secular resources for homeschoolers, afterschooling families, and caregivers teaching learners around ages 9–10. You’ll find story-rich curricula, map and geography programs, state or regional studies, and early civics and citizenship units that invite questions and connection. Every resource is reviewed for historical accuracy, inclusive representation, and developmental fit so kids can explore complex topics in a safe, age-appropriate way. Use the filters to sort by focus area (local history, U.S. history, world cultures, geography, or civics), format (books, unit studies, online programs, or hands-on projects), and learning needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, autism, giftedness, or 2e. Many families combine 4th grade social studies with nature study or field trips using materials from this collection. If you’re not sure how to structure social studies at this level, Modulo’s AI learning concierge can help you choose resources that fit your child and your family’s approach.
