6th Grade Science Fair Projects

Our 6th Grade Science Fair Projects collection supports learners around ages 11–12 as they tackle more structured investigations. Homeschoolers, afterschooling families, and caregivers will find vetted, secular project ideas in life science, Earth science, physical science, and engineering that teach kids how to form testable questions, design experiments, record data, and share conclusions. We prioritize projects that can be done safely at home with accessible materials and that focus on understanding, not just flashy demonstrations. Each idea is reviewed for developmental fit, realistic scope, and clear steps, with options tailored for ADHD, autism, anxiety, or 2e learners. Use the filters to sort by subject area, time commitment, material complexity, and support needs. If you’re not sure how to choose a sixth grade science fair project your child can manage without burnout, Modulo’s AI learning concierge can suggest options and planning tips suited to your family.
