Rachel is a nurturing lifelong learner with over 20 years of experience in childcare, education, and tutoring across the U.S. and abroad. She holds both associate and bachelor’s degrees along with certifications in early childhood development. Rachel’s teaching is hands-on, flexible, and deeply empathetic, meeting students’ individual needs across languages, ages, and abilities. She has experience with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and gifted learners and believes in cultivating curiosity, creativity, and joy in discovery. Outside of teaching, she loves reading, exploring nature, and celebrating the wonder of learning.

My approach is person first, meaning utilizing the one on one learning style that best suits the learner's needs.

I hold an associate's degree as well as a bachelor's degree. I hold a plethora of early child education and development course certifications. I have experience operating a home based child care, presechool, early childhood, faith based, tutoring, after school activities and programs, working with ages birth through senior. I also have experience teaching over seas, language learning, as well as, some experience with special needs. My background is in Math, Science, food, and I love learning, reading, as well as biblical studies.

I have five years experience tutoring over that spans the course of my educational experience.

I also have over 20 years if experience in child care, development, education, and training.

My Story

My story. I am a lifelong learner. I definitely enjoy the discovery in learning, child like wonder, and awe. Learning is so cool to find things that really fascinate us, things which we gravitate towards as learners. Whether learning about cooking, or athletics, I think there is so much fruitfulness in learning. I grew up on the East Coast of the United States. I have had the Privilege of many different kinds of experience. I learn all around me, every single day. I love learning from nature. I love learning from things that are cool to me, such as particular forms of history, study of languages, and cultures, I find joy in learning from so many things. I do appreciate homeschooling, as well as, specialized learning that mirrors the uniqueness of every learner.

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I hold experience with one on one learning style, and group learning that best suits the learner's needs.

I have been privileged to experience working with varying languages, such as spanish, chinese, african, and eastern dialects, as well as, special needs, deaf, hard of hearing, autism, kinesthetic, babies, youths, seniors, as well as, experience in customer service, hospitality, and food.

I have two years experience working with gifted elementary learners.

I have two years experience with adult and young adult profoundly gifted learners.

With all learners I was able to learn from each individual I worked with, as well as, growth the profoundly gifted.

I have five years plus experience with learners of varying ages wit regard to ADHD.

Childlike wonder, power ups, boost lessons, and various creative activities were helpful with working with the energy, discovery, and creativity of learners.

I have three years working with elementary learners of varying range of dyslexia.

I found slower pace, patience, repetition, color coding, and repetition to be helpful techniques for learners.

I have three years experience with early childhood sensory processing learners.
