My teaching/tutoring philosophy is that teaching/tutoring should be "student centered" and "highly interactive". Students should participate in all classroom activities actively and communicate intensely in class with their classmates and teacher under the guidance of their teacher.
I have a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States of America. In addition, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and French from Worcester State University in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States of America. Furthermore, I have a Bachelor of Arts in Philology, an Associate in Arts in English, and an Associate in Arts in French from University of Ho Chi Minh City in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
I have been a teacher/tutor for many years. I have tutored students of various backgrounds and ages including children (from age 4), elementary students, middle school students, high school students, college students (undergraduate students and graduate students), adult students, professionals (including post-graduate professionals like doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, scientists, researchers...), and international students. I have enjoyed teaching and tutoring for many years because I could help my students improve their language and other skills and achieve their life goals by reaching their desired language skills levels and academic objectives. By teaching and tutoring my students, I have learned interesting and helpful aspects about my students' languages, countries, and cultures.
My mission
One of my most important life missions is to continue to help many people achieve their life goals which include their academic, career, financial, and personal goals. I have tutored and taught most of my life and I have helped thousands of students achieve their life goals successfully. In my opinion, tutoring and teaching are very meaningful and rewarding jobs because I could see immediate and long term positive results of my hard work with my students, which makes me feel happy and satisfied with myself.
My Story
Cognitive Diversity
How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.I have not taught or tutored children with ADHD. I have taught and tutored some adult and college students with ADHD. I was very patient in dealing with these students and assigned some good students in class to work with them in pairs. These good students acted as their class partners and helped them do their homework and class assignments. I also worked with them closely in all class activities especially group activities. I encouraged these students to actively engage in project based activities and group activities where they were well supported by me and their teammates.
