Ivy Kids LLC makes monthly literature-based activity kits that include a curated picture book and 10+ hands-on crafts, STEM games, and learning activities. Designed for ages 3–8 and developed by early-childhood educators, each kit expands on the book theme with art, science, math, and literacy games. Parents love how everything is included—materials, guides, and keepsake crafts—letting them easily entertain and teach screen-free for weeks at a time. Unique for its depth and academic intentionality, Ivy Kids works as a mini unit study each month and helps build routines of read/play/learn without any prep required. It’s a hearty, complete supplement suited for preschool through early elementary.

MultisensoryHands-onScreen-FreeKit

Ivy Kids delivers a themed kit each month that always includes a carefully chosen picture book and 10–15 related activities spanning crafts, games, science, math, and literacy. Families simply unpack the kit, read the book together, and then move through the suggested activities at their own pace—often over several days or a week. Kits include full-color instruction sheets with learning objectives clearly outlined, and activities are open-ended to accommodate multiple ages and developmental levels. This approach reflects an interest-led, play-based methodology akin to Montessori principles, with multisensory engagement and opportunities for creativity and choice.

What kids will learn

Our mission

Ivy Kids seeks to provide families with effortless, hands-on learning experiences that combine beloved children’s literature with STEM, literacy, and art projects. It addresses the challenge parents often face in finding quality, ready-to-use activities by delivering all necessary materials and guides in each kit. What makes it unique is its seamless integration of story-based themes with diverse learning domains, allowing caregivers to spark curiosity without lesson planning or prep.

Our story

Ivy Kids was founded in 2013 by Tassea Hendricks, an early childhood teacher and homeschooling mom who was frustrated by the lack of high-quality, age-appropriate educational kits for young children. She started creating her own literacy and STEM activities around picture books to share with her children, which eventually evolved into a monthly subscription service. Since launching, Ivy Kids has shipped tens of thousands of kits to families worldwide and earned accolades such as Mom’s Choice Silver and two Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Awards for specific kits, building a strong reputation in educational subscription boxes.

FAQ: Additional Details about Ivy Kids LLC

You crack open the month’s themed box, read a picture book about animals or seasons, and then tackle 3–4 engaging activities—a counting game, a hands-on craft, a basic science experiment, and an art station—one per day, each sparking curiosity and playful learning.

Ivy Kids works best for young learners aged roughly 3–8 who enjoy hands-on exploration and storytelling. It’s especially well suited to children who thrive on multi-modal learning—playing, crafting, reading—and benefit from tactile, creative engagement rather than worksheets or screen-based learning.

Ivy Kids may not be a strong fit for older children beyond early elementary who require rigorous academic content, for families seeking full-year academic pacing, or for those preferring screen-based or digital curriculum formats. Parents looking for structured literacy or math scope and sequence may also find the playful, loosely guided format limiting.

Ivy Kids is well suited to children with sensory sensitivities, fine motor delays, or attention differences. The hands-on, multi-sensory nature of the activities and flexible pacing make it a good match for learners who benefit from engaging, tactile learning rather than desk-based tasks.

Gifted preschoolers enjoy the creative, multi-domain kits, with potential for deeper exploration if families extend themes using books or science experiments.

None—all activities are designed for ages 3–8 and start at the very beginning, accessible to emergent learners.

Ivy Kids allows cancellations at any time before the next shipment; refund policies vary by subscription plan and vendor, with some options for returning unopened kits.

Many families suggest spreading the activities across several days to keep engagement fresh and allow deeper exploration of each concept. Some caregivers set up a dedicated “Ivy Kids corner” with a tray or bin to contain projects and encourage independence. Others use the included questions and prompts to spark deeper conversation about the story or theme, and extend learning by adding simple extras like nature walks, library visits, or related YouTube read-alouds
