Leah is a flexible, all-subject tutor with classroom and substitute teaching experience who loves helping kids think in their own way. She supports learners from early elementary through high school in core subjects such as math, reading, writing, and social studies, and she is comfortable jumping between homework help, long-term projects, and skill-building. Leah’s sessions are relaxed but focused; she asks questions, checks understanding often, and is willing to rephrase or reframe explanations until things click. As a neurodivergent-friendly tutor, Leah is mindful of how anxiety, attention, and sensory differences affect learning and is open to adjusting the environment, pacing, or format. She cares deeply about students feeling heard and respected and wants learners to leave sessions feeling more capable, not more stressed. Outside of tutoring, Leah enjoys crafts, drawing, and time with animals—all of which sometimes show up as creative examples or rewards.

(Varies on my schedule but I will try to be as available as possible)

I take different approaches depending on what kind of kids I'm working with. I will always explain everything first and them either let them do it alone or work with them. I go all in on a lesson until everyone understands it. If they don't I am always available to help.

I have graduated high school, entered college; and I have a substitite teaching license.

I have helped kids with tutoring while substituting and also helped my peers and younger students in my school when I was in high school.

My mission

I love working with children, and want to help them to learn successfully in a good environment.

My Story

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I will absolutely change anything I need to for a child who needs a different approach. I am visually impaired and have worked with many students with disabilites. I have also worked with many children who have learning disorders and have different mindsets. I can adapt in any way and will always try my hardest to figure out what a child needs to be able to learn successfully.
