New York City

City Harvest

Sunset Park, Brooklyn and Remote

City Harvest offers engaging, age-appropriate volunteer opportunities for homeschooling families to fight hunger in NYC. Children ages 6–9 can participate in kid-friendly activities like organizing neighborhood food drives, decorating placemats for meal programs, or creating cheerful cards for food recipients. Ages 10+ can join Repack sessions (with a chaperone) to sort bulk produce, while teens 14+ can volunteer at Mobile Markets, distributing fresh food directly to communities. For creative learners of all ages, the Draw Hope to Drive Hope activity lets kids color or design artwork to uplift City Harvest’s drivers and families in need—perfect for combining art with service. Every contribution, big or small, helps feed New Yorkers and teaches kids the power of compassion!
