Francisco is a passionate and thoughtful educator with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from EAFIT University in Colombia, where he graduated with honors for his capstone project on cooling tower design. Fluent in English and a native Spanish speaker, Francisco brings a rich blend of technical expertise, teaching experience, and genuine love for learning. He has served as a university teaching assistant in physics and engineering, tutored students in subjects ranging from math and coding to thermodynamics, and worked one-on-one with neurodiverse learners. Deeply committed to self-directed learning, Francisco encourages curiosity by connecting academic concepts to real-world applications and students’ interests. Outside the classroom, he’s a dedicated autodidact with passions in astronomy, finance, and software development, and he continues to pursue personal projects and prepare for graduate studies in engineering. Calm, patient, and inspiring, Francisco believes that teaching is not just about transferring knowledge but about helping students see themselves as lifelong learners.

I’m available at any time and on any day. I genuinely love teaching and currently have the flexibility to adapt to any schedule that’s needed. I’m more than happy to adjust to what works best for students and the team. I live in the Colombia time zone, which is GMT-5 (also known as COT – Colombia Standard Time).

"I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from EAFIT University in Colombia, where I graduated with honors thanks to my capstone project: the design and development of a cooling tower. During my studies and professional experience, I’ve worked on several projects using SolidWorks, and I’m also certified in the software.

Beyond my degree, I’ve developed personal technical projects, including a Python-based program for kinematic chain synthesis and number synthesis. I have a strong interest in fields like astronomy, space exploration, and data analysis, and I’m currently preparing for the GRE to pursue graduate studies—potentially an online master’s degree at Texas A&M.

As for extracurriculars, I served as a teaching assistant (monitor) at university, where I strengthened my communication and leadership skills. I’m also actively involved in citizen science through the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC), contributing to real astronomical research."

During my time at university, I served as an academic teaching assistant for two subjects: Physics I and Mechanisms. In these roles, I had the opportunity to support around 50 students by helping them better understand the course material and succeed in their studies. I was also a construction engineering project advisor, guiding students through practical aspects of their academic work. In parallel, I'm a passionate lifelong learner, and I believe that teaching is one of the most effective ways to deepen one’s own understanding. For that reason, I continue to tutor university students in subjects such as mathematics, algebra, and specialized engineering courses.
