Laura is a fluent Spanish and English speaker with a Master of Arts in Literature. She makes her students more engaged by giving them choices in their learning process and sharing her own past learning challenges to help them feel confident enough to make mistakes. She has taught teenagers for over three years and now also teaches students from ages 9 to 65 online. Her personal interests include skating, baking, and dancing.

I am available every day except Monday and Friday mornings.

I think what makes me special as a teacher is that I always share my own learning experiences with my students. I put myself in their shoes and give examples of how I overcame certain challenges or struggled with something in the past too.This has worked really good because students often distance themselves from certain concepts, thinking they’re out of reach. But knowing that I, as a teacher, also faced learning difficulties helps them feel more confident to make mistakes and to keep going instead of giving up.

Master of Arts in Literature

I have teach for 3 years and a half to teenagers both, online and in person. For the last six months, I have also been teaching English and Spanish online to diverse age students (between 9 and 65).

Quiero que mi hija aprenda inglés. Durante las clases con Laura ha mejorado muchísimo su nivel de inglés hablado, escrito y en la escucha. Es muy dinámica así que mi hija no se distrae durante las clases y siempre se muestra motivada. Es creativa con sus clases lo cual es importante porque mi hija suele distraerse mucho y noto que está muy atenta en sus clases.
