Christine is a multi-degreed educator with graduate work from Cornell and the University of Pennsylvania and years of experience as a classroom teacher and learning specialist. She has led targeted reading and math interventions for students who are behind grade level and for those with IEPs or 504 plans, including many learners with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism. Christine’s teaching is trauma-informed, data-driven, and deeply human. She uses evidence-based reading and writing strategies, multisensory materials, and plenty of art, movement, and discussion to keep students engaged. Each lesson is built around clear goals and small, achievable steps so learners can see and feel their own progress. Christine also coaches students to understand their own strengths and challenges, helping them self-advocate and build long-term academic confidence. Outside of teaching, she is a self-taught artist and devoted cat rescuer, and she loves bringing creativity and compassion into every session.

My approach is student-centered and data-driven, utilizing sensory-based and differentiated interventions to provide individualized academic and behavioral support for at-risk youth.

I hold three advanced degrees—an M.L.A. from Penn, an M.A. in Elementary Education, and an M.S. Ed. in Early Childhood and Special Education from Bank Street College. I am certified in PA and NY; Disabilities 1-6, N-2, and childhood education 1-6. I am a self taught artist and also hold a TNR and cat training certificate.

I have over four years of specialized one-on-one tutoring experience, including a recent role at EBL Tutoring where I successfully raised ELA and Math scores for students with dyslexia and ADHD.

My mission

My mission is to empower students who face systemic and cognitive hurdles, transforming their challenges into sources of strength. I am fundamentally inspired by the belief that every mind is a robust system deserving of clarity, not convolution. I tutor because I thrive on the puzzle of finding the exact, low-friction pathway a student needs to achieve success, thereby building their confidence and ensuring they can navigate complex academic demands on their own terms.

My Story

I grew up in the Philadelphia area and navigated the transition into a high-stakes professional world defined by complexity and friction. This experience taught me to become an Autonomous Strategist, leading me to relocate to Brooklyn, New York, where I now live and actively pursue a life of clarity and purpose. My mentors were the resilient students and families I've worked with over my ten years in urban special education, who inspired me to secure my three Master's degrees and become a system builder. Today, my life is dedicated to solving complex problems: whether it’s designing effective IEP interventions for students with autism or volunteering as a certified TNR cat rescue technician to stabilize vulnerable animal populations in my community.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I create tailored, multisensory lessons by identifying a student's cognitive profile and integrating their individual IEP goals, sensory needs, and learning differences into the curriculum.

I have deep experience supporting children with ADHD through executive functioning strategies, including using movement breaks and predictable routines to keep them successfully engaged in online and in-person learning environments.

I have extensive experience working with students with autism in District 75 (8:1:1 and 8:1:3 settings), focusing on behavioral regulation and academic growth through individualized, sensory-based interventions.

I specialize in supporting students with dyslexia by employing structured literacy approaches, such as Fundations, to improve phonological awareness, decoding skills, and reading comprehension.

I regularly integrate sensory-based curricula, including the use of sensory breaks and personalized physical interventions, to help children regulate their systems and manage challenges within the classroom environment.
