NSTA Trade Book Lists

The NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Books lists are annual recommendations from the National Science Teaching Association and the Children’s Book Council that highlight high quality science trade books for grades K to 12. A review panel of educators and librarians selects titles that are accurate, engaging, and age appropriate across life, earth, physical, and engineering topics. Each list is organized by grade band with brief annotations about how a book can be used in the classroom. Homeschool families rely on these lists to build science rich home libraries and to choose narrative and nonfiction titles that can anchor units or spark science fair ideas.
