My Approach

Educational project design and theater/puppetry performance working with children as reflected in my Performance Art degree. I incorporate this part of my professional journey frequently with preparation for and conduction of playgroups and relevant presentations.

Extreme attention to verbal and written language use play a big role in my professional duties to ensure proper communication - this has always been a top priority.

Furthermore, my skills include self-training in child education, problem-solving advice to parents, and developing class structures and presentations with the idea of long-term & continuous learning as motivation.

My keen eye for detail has always helped with preparation, presentation, and establishing an uplifting atmosphere and building strong bonds with students whilst making sure each of my students receive their fair share of individual attention throughout the school year.

I have the requisite creative talents and resourcefulness to be an excellent candidate for this role implementing effective communication with a natural understanding of what children are interested in - both locally and internationally. Staying up to date on local and international trends is critical when acquiring any new skill, particularly a new language. I use creativity as a technique to draw attention to the right areas and pique children's curiosity.

To ensure a seamless operation, I treat all of the kids I work with, with decency and respect, and I show the same courtesy to my superiors and peers. Working as a team is vitally important and with the appropriate attitude, should come naturally. Children are much more motivated when they perceive themselves as a member of a team.

There's always room for improvement, so one should take advantage of any chance and
tackle new tasks with an open mind. Sharing your expertise can have amazing results.

My mission

The sincere curiosity of children has always been my motivation to have and continue to build a career in education. I wish that adults could sometimes let go of the modern life's seriousness, imbalances, and heartaches and escape into the innocence of childhood. I learn a lot from the imagination and creativity of a curious child, unaware of life's expectations and requirements. My mission is really to strengthen my skills and to take what I learn from young minds I teach, to make myself a better educator.

My Story

I grew up in the countryside, living with my grandparents, and attended kindergarten at my uncle's at-home kindergarten for local farm children. Who knew that I would follow in his footsteps. He passed away in my 10th grade, but left behind so many valued lessons I still practise today. I only started long-term living with my mother in my 3rd grade. I went to a part-government, part-private farm school walking distance from our farmhouse. In the middle of my 3rd grade, the school had to close, and I had to transfer to a town school. It was a big change at such a young age, and initially, I experienced a lot of bullying as I faced the challenge to adapt to the modern ways of the town kids. At the end of my 5th grade, I transferred to another (better) school in town, and this is where I was able to reach my full potential. I never had any difficulty adapting to curriculums, and was always a top student in all my classes at all schools I attended. During my time at the new school, I was able to showcase my leadership qualities, sports interests, and I had more exposure to creative after-school programs that opened doors to being on student councils, performance events, and reaching my full potential academically. I proceeded to the high school of that primary school where I had grown strong enough to stand up to bullies, continue my journeys on various student and leadership councils, and successfully completed my last year of high school, which progressed to a scholarship for university. In 2014, I graduated from Stellenbosch University, followed by numerous acting jobs and positions in the hospitality industry until 2019. In 2020, I got TEFL Certified, successfully built a career in online teaching (working for many companies from different countries), and in 2022, I had my first international journey as a kindergarten teacher in Hong Kong. Today, in 2025, I'm experienced, well-skilled, and still working on my credentials to continue my journey as a kindergarten ESL teacher to the children of the world.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I like to incorporate my creative flexibility and performance skills when
working with different children. I approach this part of my professional journey frequently with preparation for and conducting structures for a variety of age groups, playgroups, and relevant after-school lessons & presentations.

Extreme attention to verbal and written language use plays a big role in my professional duties to ensure proper communication between myself and my students. I practice inclusivity and make sure that all personality types and individuals get a turn to shine and practice their strengths.

I have experience with ADHD children. As a kindergarten Homeroom teacher in Hong Kong, I've had several children with ADHD in my playgroup sessions, Pre-Nursey classes, and K2/K3 Classes. Being new to traditional teaching (in a classroom and not online) at the time, I had to make sure I was educated about children with ADHD, and I spent a lot of time doing self-studying, reading research, and watching documentaries about ADHD. Today, I can say that I'd be more than happy to work with children with ADHD.

I have experience with autistic students in kindergarten - levels - Pre-Nursey, K2 & K3. I didn't have prior experience with Autism, but the exposure and experience are the reasons I am adding to my credentials and in the process of obtaining my Diploma in Special Needs Education.
