My approach to teaching machine learning centers on helping students learn coding by providing clear explanations alongside practical, hands-on exercises. I focus on guiding them step by step so they can understand the concepts and confidently apply them through programming to solve real-world problems.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Analytics through Western Governors University (online) and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics (with a focus on Data Science) from Barnard College, Columbia University.

I have experience providing college counseling, helping students gain admission to the Amherst Consortium with $50,000 merit aid scholarships, as well as to University of California campuses with Regents Scholarships. In addition, I have tutored students in math and all subjects on the SAT, helping them improve both their understanding and test performance.

My mission

My mission is to support students in reaching their full potential by making learning meaningful and accessible. I am inspired to tutor because I value education deeply and take pride in helping students succeed academically while building confidence and a love for learning.

My Story

I grew up in the Bay Area, primarily in Pleasanton, California, and had a challenging high school experience that made me deeply appreciate the value of education. I found my footing in college, which inspired me to help others overcome similar academic challenges. After college, I worked at a nonprofit in the Oakland area that provided free meals and coffee to people in need, further fueling my passion for supporting others. Today, I am dedicated to helping students build confidence, navigate learning obstacles, and reach their full potential.

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

I approach personalizing lessons by first understanding each student’s unique learning style, strengths, and challenges. I tailor explanations, exercises, and pacing to match their way of thinking, ensuring concepts are accessible and engaging. I have experience working with students of varying abilities, including those who are gifted or have learning differences, helping them build confidence and reach their full potential. Additionally, I draw on my own experiences navigating rigorous academic environments to empathize with and support students facing challenges, ensuring that each lesson is both effective and encouraging.
