I want provide a friendly space for Spanish speakers to practice and learn English. Depending on students' levels of English, I will tailor our session to meet their needs, and always maintain a safe space for them to experiment and practice real-life conversations. It may be introductions, numbers, colors, clothes, or as advanced as lessons about grammar in english, common phrases or interactions, or anything else that may be beneficial for their learning. I believe in focusing on the importance of real life conversations, and practicing English in a way that feels naturual, so they can be more prepared for real life experiences in another language. I am the ideal teacher because I, too, understand the challenges of learning another language. I've studied both Spanish and French, so I understand how hard it can be to practice with a fluent speaker, get stuck, and still keep going. I also know how valuable it is to have a safe, supportive space to learn and practice.
Bachlor's Degree in Psychology
During my time studying abroad in Argentina, I taught an English course to Spanish speakers, in person in Buenos Aires. I received great feedback from the students: "...Not only did you teach us efficiently, but you made the environment comfortable and transmitted positive energy around us..." Comments like this make the work so fulfilling for me as well. After 4 months, I saw their improvement firsthand, and we were able to go to a cafe and enjoy a conversation in English together. I want to continue to connect and share the knowledge of language with others! I'd also like to highlight that I have experience teaching youth groups in STEAM, summer art camps, and I was the president of the meditation club at the University of Wisconsin for 2 years. I have a range of experience interacting with diverse groups, connecting, and sharing knowledge.

My mission
I am someone who loves to learn languages! My partner of 5 years is from Argentina and speaks Spanish, English, and French. When I met him, I was finally able to apply French with him, and I loved that I had a safe space to practice with someone fluent in the language. As time continued, and I traveled to Argentina, of course, I wanted to learn Spanish too. I am not fluent yet, but being able to connect with an entirely new community of people has felt like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. I completely understand the challenges of putting yourself out there and learning from your mistakes in real time. I want to create a fun and creative space for people to learn, practice, and again, I just love meeting new people! I taught English, over the course of 5 months, to students in Buenos Aires, and I found such joy in bonding over language; I am thrilled at the opportunity to teach English!
My Story
I grew up in New York, going into Manhattan often. Surrounded by people in all walks of life, I always found a way to connect. I made it my mission to learn more about human minds, and how I can help them. This is what brought me to study psychlogy. With a background that bridges psychology, creative services, and therapeutic practices, I bring both analytical insight and creative innovation to my work. My experience supporting individuals in clinical, educational, and retail environments has strengthened my ability to communicate effectively, manage projects, and create engaging, meaningful experiences.
Cognitive Diversity
How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.I know that each mind is unique, and teaching styles may vary depending on the person. When I taught in person, I had three students, and I noticed that each of their levels were different and they would engage in different topics differently, which is common in students coming from different backgrounds. I make sure to spend the time getting to know someone, and using topics their interested in to get them to engage. I have experiences in teaching art to the youth, for example in New York City, giving me exposure to working with all kinds of students. I always try to gauge people's comfort levels, and meet them where they are at.
Our sessions will be more like conversations rather than lectures. Students can speak freely, and are meant to talk within the session whenever they want to practice something in English or ask a question in Spanish. To keep the students engaged, there will be times when participants in the session will be asked to share, for example, tell us your favorite season or how many siblings you have. We will also have guided practices, like fill-in-the-blank sharing, where students are given time to fill in the blanks on their own, and then we will come together and share what we thought and why.
