Hi, I’m Bharti Ahuja, an educator from India with over a decade of teaching experience. With a double bachelor’s degree in Finance and Education, and a master’s in Finance, I blend analytical thinking with strong pedagogical skills to make learning structured, engaging, and student-centered. I believe that every child learns differently, and I strive to create an environment where students feel empowered to explore, question, and grow. My teaching philosophy centers on self-questioning as a tool for deep learning, encouraging critical thinking over rote memorization. Passionate about nurturing curiosity and confidence, I find immense joy in helping students develop a genuine love for learning. Outside the classroom, I unwind with calming music and cherish quality time with my family, especially playing board games or cooking with my husband.

My educational approach is centered around making learning interactive, engaging, and enjoyable for every student. I believe that when children are actively involved in the learning process, they not only retain information better but also develop a genuine interest in the subject. I strive to create a classroom environment where curiosity is welcomed and questioning is encouraged. To me, questions are powerful tools—they spark critical thinking, deepen understanding, and empower students to take ownership of their learning. By fostering a space where children feel comfortable to express their thoughts and ask “why,” I aim to nurture confident, independent thinkers who are excited to learn.

I hold a double bachelor’s degree—one in Finance and another in Education—along with a master’s degree in Finance. My academic background has equipped me with both analytical and instructional strengths that I bring into every classroom. I’ve also earned certifications that support my teaching practice, including Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices: Middle School and the Science of Reading from the Indiana Department of Education. These programs have strengthened my understanding of how children learn both numeracy and literacy, and how to support them through evidence-based strategies. I’m also deeply interested in how emerging tools like Artificial Intelligence can be thoughtfully integrated into education to make learning more inclusive, personalized, and engaging for all students.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children across different age groups and learning levels, both as a teacher and mentor. From leading structured math lessons to guiding students through reading comprehension and language development, I’ve always prioritized understanding each child’s unique learning style. Whether in one-on-one virtual sessions or small group settings, I strive to build strong connections with my students—creating a safe, nurturing space where they feel heard and supported. I also focus on helping them develop not just academic skills but confidence, curiosity, and a growth mindset. Seeing a child’s face light up with understanding or pride in their progress is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

My mission

My mission as a tutor is to create a supportive, engaging, and empowering learning environment where every student feels confident, curious, and capable. I aim to meet each child where they are, nurture their unique strengths, and help them overcome challenges through patience, encouragement, and personalized instruction. Whether they need a boost in confidence or an extra challenge, my goal is to inspire a love for learning that lasts well beyond our sessions.

My Story

I started tutoring because I’ve always been a naturally curious person, constantly asking questions and seeking to understand how things work. When I discovered the world of tutoring, I realized it was the perfect way to channel that curiosity—and to pass it on. I truly believe that great minds are curious, and that nurturing curiosity in children can lead to incredible growth and discovery. Tutoring allows me to not only teach concepts but also to inspire students to think deeply, explore boldly, and never stop asking “why.” Fun fact: I love playing strategy board games with my family—they keep my brain just as active as my students do!

Cognitive Diversity

How I adapt to students with diverse intellectual needs.

Yes, I believe my tutoring sessions would be a great fit for children who are twice exceptional (2e)—those who are both gifted and have learning differences. I understand that 2e learners require both challenge and support, and I make sure to create a learning environment that is flexible, encouraging, and intellectually stimulating. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a student who was exceptionally gifted in Math—a 5th grader who could easily grasp Grade 8–9 level concepts. With this student, I designed advanced lessons on topics like linear equations, profit & loss, and geometry, while also integrating real-life applications to keep him engaged.

I’ve had the rewarding experience of working with gifted students who thrive on intellectual challenge and creative problem-solving. One of my most memorable learners is a 5th grader with exceptional mathematical ability, who was comfortably working with concepts typically introduced at the Grade 8–9 level.

I’ve also worked closely with a student diagnosed with ADHD, who initially struggled with focus and task completion. Through short, structured activities, frequent check-ins, and movement breaks, I was able to help him stay engaged and build confidence in his abilities. Over time, he began to participate more actively, and his progress—both academic and emotional—was incredibly rewarding to witness.

I’ve had a lot of teachers over the years for my son, but few have made as much of a difference as Mrs. Bharti Ahuja. Her way of explaining math is clear, patient, and honestly—lifesaving during exams. She doesn’t just teach formulas and methods; she actually helps to understand the "why" behind each concept, which makes a huge difference.

What I appreciate most is how approachable she is. No question ever feels too small or silly to ask. She creates a classroom environment where it’s okay to make mistakes, and that’s when real learning happens.

Thanks for her support, my son's confidence in math has grown so much. Whether you're struggling or just trying to get better, this is the kind of teacher one needs who genuinely cares and helps you reach your best.
