I grew up in Ecuador, South America and my parents had a big impact to become who I am now. I came to the United States as an international student not knowing any English. It was a big challenge that I had to overcome. I became a teacher because since I was in middle school, I had a close friend who had difficulties with his grades and he always came to my house to study together. After I started helping him, he got better grades. He was smart, but I was paying more attention, taking better notes, and I believed that the best way of learning is by teaching. I started teaching 11 years ago. I have been a Spanish/ESL elementary/middle/high school teacher. Because I have been an ESL teacher, I have had to help my students with their: math, social studies, science, and English assignments. I am really passionate about foreign languages. I am a polyglot and I speak four languages fluently: Spanish, French, Portuguese, and English. Now, I am in the process of learning Russian. I am a Duolingo ambassador. Also, I have traveled to 52 countries. I have a master's degree in education, a B.A. in elementary education, and several endorsements.
