5th Grade Science Fair Projects

Our 5th Grade Science Fair Projects collection supports learners around ages 10–11 as they design investigations with more structure and depth. Homeschoolers, afterschooling families, and caregivers will find vetted, secular project ideas in life, Earth, and physical sciences that emphasize fair testing, data recording, and simple analysis. We choose projects that are engaging but manageable within family schedules and home environments. Each idea is reviewed for safety, developmental appropriateness, and clear instructions, with adaptations suggested for ADHD, autism, anxiety, or 2e learners. Use the filters to sort by subject, timeframe, material demands, and support needs. If you’re unsure which fifth grade science fair projects strike the right balance between challenge and sanity, Modulo’s AI learning concierge can recommend options that fit your child’s curiosity, executive functioning, and available time.
